My name is Michael Garrity.

I used to think that photography was nothing more than a past time. After completing the Photography course in Griffith College, I now see the potential that exists to create images that change the way a person thinks about a subject, cause people to discuss topics or bring out the unseen beauty of everyday scenes or objects.

It is important to be able to capture a moment and use camera techniques to ‘expose’ a subjects hidden or obvious beauty.
My favourite type of image is one that makes me and/or other people smile. I try to include a level of humour when I am shooting for my own enjoyment. When shooting for clients, I show the highest level of professionalism.

I hope you enjoy my image of Ken on the night the he met Barbie in Copperface Jacks and I look forward to showing more of my images at the exhibition.
